You can now buy pizza bitterballen for the oven or Airfryer

Yes, you read that right: pizza bitterballen. A bitterbal that isn’t filled with Old Amsterdam cheese, ragout or grilled chicken, but with, indeed, pizza. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? There’ll definitely be a bowl on our table at the next Friday afternoon drinks!

Because even though our eyebrows also furrowed slightly when we first saw the new snack, on closer inspection we have a feeling that these balls are divinely delicious.
Cheesy happiness
Bitterballen are normally filled with ragout, but not this time. Thankfully, because pizza ragout sounds a lot less appetising. Instead of the standard filling, the crispy exterior of the pizza bitterbal mainly encases plenty of cheese and tomato. And there are two types of bitterballen: salami and Margherita. One with pieces of salami, and the other seasoned in a slightly more Italian style. According to Dr. Oetker, the snack of all snacks has just become even better.
Time to use the Airfryer!
One important side note for those who want to throw the new snack straight into the deep fryer: you can’t. The pizza bitterballen are not intended for deep-frying, but for the oven or Airfryer. The bitterballen are now available at Albert Heijn for €3.99.
