You don’t want to miss this at Bacchus 2019

Bacchus

Wine in your hand and feet off the floor! This weekend is the final weekend of Bacchus. The wine festival with wine, food and music in the Amsterdamse Bos. The choice is huge, but what should you really not miss? These are our favourites this weekend:

A festival with more than 300 wines from all over the world in the starring role? Count us in! Especially when it’s not a dusty affair, with complicated wine talk. For us, having a good time is more important than reciting a 24-volume wine encyclopaedia, and that’s exactly what Bacchus is all about. The combination of a strong line-up of DJs, live acts and excellent food creates a real festival atmosphere.

Drink that expensive wine

Winefield’s Auctioneers is a familiar name among people who occasionally have a bottle auctioned off. And how fun: at Bacchus, they’ll be there with old, flashy bottles that you can now order by the glass.

Menno’s frikadel

You can’t keep drinking on an empty stomach. So grab that culinary snack from the snack bar at Bacchus. Chef Menno Vreeburg makes a frikadel you’ll want to lick your fingers over!

Try wine from Amsterdam

Chateau Amsterdam is the Netherlands’ first city winery. The wines are made from organic grapes from various European countries. Visit their living room at Bacchus for a tasting of ‘The Fat Lady Sings’ and ‘Orange is the New White’ – and hear how they manage to make wine in Amsterdam.

Meet the winemaker

Speed dating with the person behind the bottle! Wine shop Chabrol has invited a number of winemakers especially for Bacchus. You won’t get any closer to the source than this weekend.

Try your luck, win a bottle

Clear out the balloon tent at Steven de Peven’s. If you hit the target… you win a bottle of wine!

Swirl your glass, shake those hips

The Bacchus DJs play laid-back house and hip-hop alternated with hits from the 1980s. Bearded men say: “Nice and eclectic.” We call it: “A bit of everything.” Rob Black, former frontman of Girls Love DJs, will be playing all Saturday, guaranteed to be a party!
