You’ll want to try this: the kimchi croissant

You see it everywhere: kimchi. If it’s not served as a side dish with noodles or rice, it’s piled onto a grilled cheese, folded into an omelet or stirred into soup. But a kimchi croissant? We hadn’t seen that one before. Until we came across it at Et-CLAIRE in Amsterdam.

And yes, you’ll want to try it today.
Dream combination
A crisp, freshly baked croissant that looks like it came straight from a French bakery, filled with mildly spicy, sweet-and-sour kimchi, Gruyère sauce and pieces of crispy cauliflower. Topped with some freshly grated Gruyère and chives. Is your mouth watering yet? This is a dream combination you didn’t know you needed in your life.
To die for viennoisserie
You can get the kimchi croissant at Et-CLAIRE, a bakery on Beethovenstraat in Amsterdam. They also have more pastries here – or viennoisserie, as it’s called – that are truly to die for. How about a croissant tart with tomatoes and ricotta? Or delicious éclairs with fresh fruit? I’d say it’s time to head to Beethovenstraat!
