Festive falafel bites with fig, cranberry and walnut

Hmm… With the festive season just around the corner, all we want is delicious food. During Christmas, everything can be just a little more festive. So whether you make these falafel bites as a festive appetizer for your dinner or to enjoy while snuggling up on the sofa, with Maza, the festive mood is guaranteed.

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Use the round cutter to cut approximately 20 rounds from the pitta breads. Bake the pitta toasts in the preheated oven for approximately 5 minutes. Leave to cool on a wire rack.

2. Meanwhile, heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the falafel for approximately 4 minutes, until golden brown on both sides.

3. Meanwhile, dress the rocket with the remaining olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

4. Divide the houmous over the toasts. Top with the rocket, followed by the falafel. Scatter the walnuts and pomegranate seeds over the top. Drizzle the falafel bites with the pomegranate molasses. If desired, secure the falafel bites with a festive cocktail stick.
