Hangover King’s Day breakfast

You went completely overboard on King’s Night and now you still have the whole day ahead of you. That calls for a good hangover breakfast that immediately gives you a solid base for the rest of the day. Whether you eat quickly at home before heading out, or get together with a group of friends, these brekkies will have you back on your feet in no time.

Drinks
First, restore your salt and fluid levels with a refreshing glass. Drink a large glass of [water] with lemon juice, ginger, coconut water and a little salt. If that doesn’t help, definitely reach for a repair beer or cocktail.

Egg McMuffin
It’s no wonder that after a night of heavy drinking, you crave a huge amount of eggs in the morning. Eggs are packed with amino acids that help your liver recover and break down the substance that causes your headache. Our favorite is to make an Egg McMuffin yourself. If you don’t have the energy for that, you can get one at our favorite fast-food chain.
Egg slut sandwich
The ultimate sandwich—our hangover disappears as soon as we watch this video. Yes, it uses Spam, and no, we really don’t care.
Broth
Maybe not the most conventional breakfast, but a clear broth immediately helps restore your salt and fluid levels. A Japanese miso soup, for example, with plenty of fresh spring onion. Or Asian chicken soup with ginger, garlic and turmeric.
Spinach
Iron, vitamin C and folic acid—spinach has it all. Use it instead of ham on your eggs Benedict, make a green shakshuka, or simply enjoy it on toast with egg.

Huevos rancheros
If you need an even heartier breakfast, go for this Mexican classic with eggs and tomato sauce. It’s pretty spicy, which will certainly wake you up. Perfect if you’re having breakfast with a large group. With a serious hangover, sprinkle on extra cheese.
English breakfast
Egg, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, beans and black pudding—with an English breakfast in your stomach, you won’t need to eat anything else for the rest of the day. Have fun!
