Korean bulgogi

A dish whose name literally means ‘fire meat’—how could it possibly go wrong?

Korean fried chicken and kimchi have by now gained some name recognition in our little country. Time for bulgogi to join them. Essential at a Korean barbecue, delicious rolled up in a lettuce leaf with a little rice and kimchi. But it is also delicious on a sandwich or in a taco.
Marinade
Beef is placed in a marinade of soy sauce, sesame oil, onion, garlic, ginger and sugar. Sometimes mirin or Korean chili paste is added as well. Leaving the meat in the marinade for a long time makes it incredibly tender, in addition to being very flavorful.
In the video below, Korean culinary heroine Maangchi explains the recipe to you step by step. She uses two secret ingredients that make the meat extra flavorful and shiny. Grilling it on the barbecue is best, but if you get a pan very hot and fry your meat in it, it will be delicious too.
