Cycling-worthy sandwiches? They exist

Here in the newsroom, we turn making the most delicious sandwiches into an art form every lunchtime. But sometimes, sometimes you just want someone else to do it for you. At least as well. Where should you go? Here:

You already know omfiets wine, but now meet the cycling-worthy sandwiches from Sean Wainer, owner of Small World Catering. At this deli and cafe on Binnen Oranjestraat in Amsterdam (one of those side streets off the Haarlemmerdijk), you can get generously filled sandwiches with pastrami and Emmental, spicy salami, taleggio and courgette, or a sandwich with honey-roasted pumpkin, goat’s cheese, almond and rocket.
At Small World, you can also buy other to-go dishes, such as soups, salads, quiches and burritos. A little extra attention for the savoury lamb burrito with jalapeño, cheese, beans and lots of herbs, because this Tex-Mex dish is one you’ll want to eat every day. More of a sweet tooth? They sell a good, not-too-sweet carrot cake. After tasting almost all the carrot cakes in the city, owner Sean could only reach one conclusion: my cake is the very best. Judge for yourself!
You can also easily make Small World’s sandwiches and other dishes at home, because Sean has put his best lunch dishes in a book.
