The most beautiful hotspots in 040

Delicious food is obviously the most important thing, but if you’re also sitting somewhere beautiful, you’ve really hit the jackpot. In design city Eindhoven, they have taste in both the literal and figurative sense, because at these restaurants you can eat well in an Instagram-worthy location.

Vershal het Veem
On the trendy Strijp-S design site, you’ll find food hall het Veem. Here you can enjoy charcuterie from butcher’s shop Reinders, a beer from brewery and tasting room Het Veem, Mexican street food from Willy Nacho, or freshly baked breads and croissants from De Mannen van Deeg. At this covered fresh market, you can put your own meal together. Take a seat at a table inside or take your food outside and enjoy everything happening at Strijp-S.
Vershal het Veem
Torenallee 86-02
Open: Monday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

De Kazerne
What started as a pop-up restaurant has now become a permanent establishment. In this former military police barracks, you can sit among exhibitions full of (Dutch) design in the heart of Eindhoven. Vegetables take center stage and the dishes have an Italian twist. New dishes are added to the menu every two weeks. The enormous open kitchen and spacious, dark interior make you feel as though you’re part of the artwork yourself.
De Kazerne
Paradijslaan 2-8
Open: daily from 12:00 p.m.

Radio Royaal
This restaurant is housed in Philips’ former power station, and you can see that. Here you sit in a raw, industrial space among the original machines. Don’t think that makes it uninviting: the pleasant atmosphere and lovely service are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. And if they don’t, the menu will, because the German-French dishes (think roast chicken and flammkuchen) are delicious and fit seamlessly with the rugged setting.
Radio Royaal
Ketelhuisplein 10
Open: daily from 6:00 p.m.
