When you go out to eat, do you prefer to think as little as possible? Do you not even need to see the wine list because you trust the sommelier? Then stop reading now. During the Food Auction, you have to work really hard for your meal.

On 13, 14 and 15 February, the Spijsbereiders are organising a dinner where guests bid on the best products. You may know the guys from their dinners with moving tables or their culinary fantostis, which you can buy at Albert Heijn. Don’t worry: they won’t send anyone home hungry. A dinner ticket costs €90, and in return you receive the same amount in auction credit. Everyone gets four courses and drinks, but you can bid on extra-special products that make the meal even more special.

Raise your paddle

That expensive wine or that special cut of venison from the Oostvaardersplassen? You can bid on them because they are scarce and particularly sought-after. This way, you are in control of your own dinner. Fun, right? An extra splash of truffle oil? Up goes that paddle. The menu of auction items is announced in advance, so you can decide at home what you want to set your sights on.

The dinners take place at Gast in Den Bosch. For now, only the three dates have been announced, but if all goes well, there will certainly be more. Want to buy tickets for the culinary auction? You can do so on the website.
