Massimo Bottura goes to Dubai
Apparently, being named the best restaurant in the world is not enough for Massimo Bottura. The Italian chef is opening a new restaurant far from his Modena. His newest restaurant has only been open for a few days and is located in ever-sunny Dubai.
Massimo’s restaurant is called Torno Subito, which is Italian for ‘I’ll be right back’. The name refers to the signs Italian shopkeepers hang on their doors during lunchtime.

“It means ‘I’ll be right back’, but actually it means ‘I’m leaving and never coming back’,” Bottura explains. The name plays on Dubai’s reputation for waste, excess and luxurious things that are quickly thrown away again. Entirely in keeping with Dubai style, the restaurant is located in a luxury hotel. So if you’re still looking for somewhere to sleep during your stay: book a room at the W Dubai – The Palm, because guests can order dishes directly from their bed, the pool or the beach.
Italian 1960s
Of course, you don’t have to sleep at the hotel to eat at Torno Subito. You can simply reserve a table in the restaurant or eat outside on the terrace.
