Massimo Bottura opens a hotel

Have you just saved enough money for dinner at the best restaurant in the world: Osteria Franciscano? Keep saving for a little while longer, because chef Massimo Bottura is opening a hotel where you can end the evening perfectly.

For a ten-course menu at the restaurant in Modena, you pay €250,-, and that’s without wine. Want to end the evening in style? From this spring, you can book a room at the nearby Maria Luigia, named after Massimo’s mother, for €500,- euros per night. Goodbye money, hello ultimate luxury.
The chef and his wife Lara Gilmore have bought a house on a huge estate with twelve rooms that will all be rented out. Over the past year, Lara and her designer friends have thoroughly renovated the property so that it looks immaculate. And of course, food has also been taken into consideration: the food simply continues.
Tennis court and swimming pool
Breakfast and a light lunch are included in the price, as is a minibar filled with the best lambrusco and Parmesan cheese. Want to work up an appetite between meals? You can use the tennis court and swimming pool or take a lovely walk around the estate, which is filled with sculptures.
It is not yet possible to reserve a room, but keep an eye on the restaurant’s website. You can already find a small teaser there.
