Put Sea Salt on Your Nutella

By now, it’s clear that salt can make some sweet things even more delicious. Hello, salted caramel! Still, I’m always met with strange looks from new colleagues when I sprinkle sea salt over my slice of bread with Nutella.

For me, there’s no better way to finish lunch than with a fresh slice of bread topped with butter, Nutella and Maldon sea salt (or another type of salt with large flakes). The first three products are a no-brainer, but the salt often raises questions. Even though it actually makes perfect sense. Salt plays two very important roles here. First of all, it brings out all the flavours, duh. As an added bonus, you also get that delicious crunch from the salt flakes. Are you salivating yet?
Winning combination
Maybe you’re sitting in front of your screen with a raised eyebrow right now, but everyone who tries it at the lunch table is immediately won over. Just give it a try—you’ve got nothing to lose. If this amazing recipe means you can’t think about anything but the oh-so-satisfying chocolate-and-salt combo, you could also try stirring salt into your hot chocolate, as in this episode of Modern Family.
