Whether you enthusiastically join in or think the whole thing is nonsense: Halloween is becoming increasingly popular in the Netherlands. Decorations in shops, fancy-dress parties, and of course Halloween treats! For some people, this means stocking up on a bag of themed sweets, while for others it’s a chance to really let loose in the kitchen.
Pumpkins are of course iconic Halloween decorations, but the pumpkins carved into lanterns usually don’t end up in the pan (or oven) anymore. Because the people who celebrate it generally turn it into a real get-together, all kinds of snacks, cakes and other treats are made. And these party animals really went all out!
