10x our favorite cheap snacks from Aldi

Aldi definitely isn’t the kind of store where your credit card catches fire in your pocket. But our favorite gems really don’t cost a thing. Cheap-ass indulgence, we love it. Do you already know these delights?

Air Power chocolate bar
Bo: ‘Whenever I go to Aldi, I can’t resist taking one of these wonderfully airy chocolate bars with me (or let’s be honest: a few bars). It tastes like Bros and for €1.34 you get a huge bar.’

Chocolate-covered banana foam candies
You probably know these as ape heads; sweet licorice combined with a soft banana flavor. Just as tasty, a little cheaper (€1.79), so that’s a nice bonus.

Donuts
We love donuts (just check out our supermarket donut test), glazed, filled—everything is delicious. But really, Aldi’s chocolate donuts are truly next level. And guess what? They cost just €0.40.

Chocolate raisins
Bo: ‘Chocolate + raisins = match made in heaven. This is an unbelievably delicious snack and I could easily eat it every day, especially for the price: €1.03 for a bag.’

Mitzies
‘You know exactly what to expect from these chips: light, airy chips with a mildly salted flavor. Pom-Bär chips under a different name and at a bargain price.’ A bag of Mitzies costs €0.79.

Cinnamon swirl
This cinnamon swirl is perfect when you’re on the go. Nothing too fancy, nice and simple, but that certainly doesn’t make it any less tasty. It’s worth trying for €0.49.

Pecan pastry
We really have to talk about this pecan pastry. It’s incredibly delicious. And guess what? €0.40—how could you leave it behind at that price? Delicious as a snack, with pieces of pecan on top. A little drink tip to go with it: coffee with a kick.

Sprenkeltjes
Biscuits covered in milk chocolate and a layer of sugar. They taste just as good as they sound. The only downside: once you start, you can’t stop, and the pack is empty in no time. But luckily, for €0.99 you can easily grab a new pack, milk or dark chocolate.

Tortilla chips sweet chili
Nachos, tortilla chips, whatever. These chips are always a hit, with a little dip or simply eaten by the handful. And no, you really don’t need to buy an expensive brand; these sweet chili tortilla chips are crunchy, slightly spicy and affordable. And all that for just €0.61.

Cream dessert with topping
Bo: ‘I’ve mentioned my guilty pleasure on Saturday nights before: cream desserts in chocolate and vanilla flavors. This Aldi dessert is a real treat: €0.53 per cup.’
