24h West Food Tour March 12 & 13

bao

24h Amsterdam is an initiative by the municipality of Amsterdam to introduce people to the shops, museums, theaters, hotels and clubs in other districts. After all, you often only know the fun spots in your own neighborhood. On March 12 & 13, the West district is in the picture and activities are being organized everywhere. FavorFlav has selected a few for you.

Make your own Baos

Make your own Bao together with Julius Jaspers and a few other chefs at Happyhappyjoyjoy. Bao what? Baos are steamed flour buns topped with, for example, king crab or pork belly. Mix & match your own bun, and who knows, your own bao might end up on the menu.

Cost: € 5.00

Drinks at Sterk

A workshop on making gin and tonics may be a bit 2015 or even 2014, but let’s be honest, it’s still simply delicious. And at Sterk, the place in Amsterdam where you can buy truly every drink on earth, you can get to work with gin and tonics, special herbs and botanicals. Prefer beer? From nine o’clock, brewers Do and Tessel from Gebrouwen door Vrouwen (we wrote about these two sisters before) will get started with a beer tasting. After midnight, you can try the darkest beer from brewery Bru’d.

Opera music with beer

Opera and beer are, as far as we’re concerned, a surprising combination. At beer café BRET near Sloterdijk station, soprano Else-Linde Buitenhuis sings the most beautiful opera arias, accompanied by piano music and matching specialty beers.

Cost: admission free, beer tasting € 12.50 for four tasting glasses of beer with an amuse-bouche.

Hangover yoga and Turkish breakfast

Start the day with a Turkish breakfast at podium Mozaiek while listening to Turkish music, and then take a hangover yoga class at 11:15 a.m. What will you be eating? Sucuk (Turkish sausage), borek (spinach with feta in puff pastry), mascarpone with honey, marinated olives, halloumi (cheese) and a boiled or fried egg with traditional Turkish tea.

Cost: yoga class, € 2.50 (if you take part, you’ll receive 25% off breakfast)

Registration:
