4 x favorite Indonesian spots in The Hague

Vanja van der Leeden, known for her fantastic cookbook INDOROCK, was born and raised in The Hague. These are her favorite Indonesian and Indisch takeaway shops and restaurants in 070.

Didong
A popular spot serving fresh-tasting Indisch food with a crisp bite in a non-traditional setting. Always good.

The Raffles
An old favorite. Try the gulai kambing. I send people here when they want to make an evening of it, especially because of the wine pairings offered by the owner and sommelier.

Toko Toet
A good takeaway shop with more than the standard Indisch dishes. They love peteh beans, which feature in many dishes.
Warung Bude Kati
With exciting, more distinctly Indonesian dishes such as soto babat (with tripe) and pecel tumpeng (a vegetable dish with a sauce made from tempeh, tofu, peteh beans and shrimp).
