Max Restaurant

Indonesian chef Max Lumankun has been cooking Indo-fusion for more than fifteen years, first in The Hague and now for a good eight years in Amsterdam. Max’s dishes are smart, simple and elegant. He also knows how to pair wine with Asian food and happily chats about it at your table.

Warung Barokah

There are two locations, the setting is traditional and the food is predominantly Indonesian. You can eat rujak cingur (rujak with cow’s nose or something resembling it) and tahu ketoprak (a hearty salad with tahu, lontong and kecap sauce).

Restaurant Blauw

Good, spicy and fresh flavors in a modern setting. In Amsterdam, Indonesian chef Titi Waber has been brought on board, making the dishes taste more Indonesian than ever. There is also a location in Utrecht.

Paon Bali

Balinese food with a changing daily menu. Their sambal matah and sambal mbe are to die for. The owner has kecombrang flown in, that wonderfully aromatic ginger flower that is hardly available here.

Ron Gastrobar Indonesia

Indonesian food at a gastronomic level in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, with authentic flavors—chef Agus Hermawan takes care of that. And because it has been such a huge hit, an identical establishment has opened in Laren.
