5 Must-Eats at Rollende Keukens

Rollende_keukens

This weekend, from 29 May to 2 June, we can let loose again! Because it’s the weekend of Rollende Keukens. It really is heaven for everyone who, like us, has a fetish for food trucks. So rally your friends and head to Amsterdam’s Westerpark with squealing tires. And to help you get started: here are our festival favorites.

Meet Jack

A newcomer that immediately captured our undivided attention. Meet Jack makes incredibly tasty snacks with jackfruit, but without meat. From bitterballen to gyros, all made with this spiky Asian fruit. Bonus: at Rollende Keukens, Meet Jack is introducing a new snack: satay from Balinese cuisine.

Klein & Kok

The editors’ guilty pleasure : arancini. The little risotto balls look like bitterballen and are a real blank canvas: you can take them in any direction—and that is exactly what the two young entrepreneurs behind Klein & Kok are going to do at Rollende Keukens. From arancini with mozzarella and tomato to arancini with truffle and wild mushrooms: we can’t wait!

Chicken CrayCray

Another debutant this year! And not only at Rollende Keukens, but everywhere. Chicken CrayCray is bringing Surinamese vibes to Rollende Keukens! Surinamese BBQ chicken: there’s a good chance this will be love at first bite .

La Molina

One moment you’re watching a food truck prepare your nasi; the next, you’re spinning around yourself. On a carousel, that is—because you can do that at La Molina. Order some tapas and a drink, get in, and when you come back down, it’ll be waiting for you.

Waldo

Whatever the question, chocolate is always the answer for us. And because there’s always room for dessert (or two), we think Waldo is the perfect place to end your food tour. The sticky brownies with a crispy exterior from Waldo… choco heaven!

Tip: Rollende Keukens is fighting plastic waste with glass cups that you purchase once and have cleaned for you every round. You can also bring a glass from a previous year, and even your own favorite glass of 25 or 50 cl is fine.
