The best food trucks for your wedding

Rings? Check. White dress? Check. I do? Check. But what do you do about the food at your wedding? From experience, I can tell you: hire a food truck—success guaranteed.

You know how it is: you’ve been at a party for a while and suddenly there it is: the platter of Dutch bar snacks. You only realize how badly you’ve been craving it when you see it. Pure bliss.
Ultimate bliss
I had a similar experience once at a wedding, where we were partying after an elaborate dinner at beautifully set tables. Suddenly, a bell rang, we were led outside and there it was: a fries stand. In my ears, I heard the sound of angels, and in my memory the stand has a halo around it.
What a brilliant idea: at a wedding, people quickly drink quite a lot, so things can sometimes fall apart rather early. A midnight snack is the perfect solution. But even if you’re not in the mood for a formal dinner, a food truck is the answer. So: five food trucks that are perfect for your wedding (and every other epic party).
Zilt & Zalig
There are few things as festive as oysters, especially when they’re served from—yes—a gigantic oyster. They serve 25 different varieties, such as the Zeeland flat oyster, Geay and Kristale. Prefer more options? They also supply fruits de mer.

BBQ Food Express
Spareribs, sliders, skewers and satay: all served from this locomotive converted into a barbecue. From steam train to smoke train, basically. Are there any vegetarians in the room? No problem: there are vegetarian options too.

Bon Frites
You can’t go wrong with fries (see my blissful experience above), especially when they’re also perfectly fried, organic fries, the sauces are gluten-free and they contain no artificial fragrances, colours or flavourings. And the mayonnaise is made with yolks from Rondeel chickens. Party time.

De Barabus
Their signature dish is—as the name suggests—the Surinamese bara, filled with chicken masala, salt cod or a vegetarian filling with lettuce and cucumber. But they also serve Javanese chicken, Surinamese noodles, burgers and roti rolls. Bring it on.

Churro Kitchen
You can have dinner at the table, but dessert from a truck is an option too, of course. Churro Kitchen serves the originally Spanish snack au naturel, with caramel fudge or (white) chocolate topping. They also do lavishly decorated doughnuts.
