Pretzels

Okay, it’s not a dish, but this salty snack is ideal for an enormous binge-watch session of your favorite series at the moment. Make a big batch and grab as many as you like.  Click here for the recipe.

Buttermilk pancakes

The breakfast favorite of many, but actually delicious at any time of day. Forget those thin Dutch pancakes; these are thick and fluffy. Get some real maple syrup, add an extra knob of butter and sink into the sofa. That hangover, grumpy mood or whatever will disappear in no time. Click here for the recipe.

Sloppy Joe

Wow, this is so delicious. Start looking for those napkins now, though, because making a mess comes with the territory when eating this sandwich. Ideal for large groups, because you can simply make this spicy-sweet ground meat sauce ahead of time. Maybe that actually makes the sauce even tastier. Click here for the recipe.

Black & White cookies

I know this cookie (or rather cake, because they’re enormous) from the series Sex & The City. It’s so simple: a sponge cake-like cookie glazed with vanilla and chocolate fondant. This version also contains salted peanuts, and I happen to be crazy about sweet-and-savory combos. Click here for the recipe.

Breakfast burrito

When I think of the US, I think of bacon. So this favorite is generously featured in this Tex-Mex dish. It’s quite a list of ingredients, but everything is easy to find. Plus, it’s so worth the effort. Click here for the recipe.
