7 reasons why we’re fans of Action

Action

If there’s one store that colleague Ella from Amayzine and we simply can’t get enough of, it’s Action. Quite simply because they really have EVERYTHING here, so every time we leave with bags full of trinkets we absolutely didn’t need, but couldn’t leave behind. Reading this and never set foot in an Action store? Then you really need to change that, for the following reasons.

1. They have EVERYTHING
I’m not exaggerating: Action really does have everything. Just before I’d even put the paintbrushes in my basket, I walked past the shelf with air mattresses and tents. You can imagine how perfectly timed that was with festival season just around the corner. This is exactly why you always leave here with so much stuff, because everything a person could wish for is available in this one store. And for unexplainable reasons, the things you need are always displayed next to each other on the shelves. Coincidence doesn’t exist, dear people.

2. Everything is cheap
Every time, I’m amazed by how incredibly cheap Action is. How is that possible? The chain buys huge quantities of products from China, which allows them to offer such low prices. They also claim to be an efficient organisation because they spend hardly any money on advertising. And that does seem to be true, because let’s be honest: a coat rack for six euros? You’d be robbing your own wallet if you didn’t buy it.

3. Save money
At Action, they sell many well-known-brand products for next to nothing. So you really save a lot of money by doing your shopping here. Where you pay full price for a premium brand in other shops, here you pay
house-brand prices for the same quality. Think makeup remover, toothpaste, detergent, mascara and so on. Great, right?

4. They have the best sweets
The selection of sweets here is genuinely much better than in the supermarket. Besides selling completely different types of sweets (such as twist lollipops), they often come in those wonderfully large packages too. I always take one of those gigantic Haribo tubs filled with blue Smurfs. Oh, and Kinder Bueno is also much cheaper here, by the way. I’m not obsessed with sweets at all. But one thing is certain: Action is the ideal place to stock up on sweets.

5. You leave with all kinds of gadgets
Besides the fact that you can score countless useful things at Action, they also have plenty of useless gadgets you didn’t even know existed. Yet you want them all. Think mini speakers hanging from a key ring or an inflatable flamingo. In short: you’ll find all kinds of fantastic little things here, which also makes it a great shop for gifts.

6. Action makes you want to do DIY
At least it does for me. During a trip around Action, I suddenly always feel like giving everything a makeover. Decking for ten euros? Well, then I might as well renovate my balcony. Paint for three euros? The bedroom could do with some attention too. My hands always start itching to get started.

7. Browsing around is a party
In this shop, I can wander around for hours without getting bored for even a moment. A trip to Action is therefore basically just a really fun activity. Top tip: always go alone.
