7 snacks to order on your next snack adventure
Snacks, we just love them! And so do you, because in the Netherlands we eat 25 croquettes per person every year – and many more frikandellen; around 37 per year. The minced-meat stick, hamburger and spring roll are also hugely popular. But as delicious as these good old snack-bar favorites are, step outside your snack comfort zone and order these snacks on your next visit to the snack bar:
New York Chicken Strips
2020 was the year of fried chicken (have you already tried Naskip’s absurdly delicious chicken sandwich?). New York Chicken Strips are made from the tenderloins of the chicken. Think of them as a better version of the chicken nugget. No finely minced chicken, but real chicken breast. Available in different portions and also delicious in a wrap or (as an extra addition) on a burger.
Mozarella Fries
Ahhh, drive me crazy: creamy mozzarella fries in an extra-crispy tempura coating. Even more delicious when they are tossed immediately after frying in a bowl with herbs and spices. You’ll eat your fingers along with them!
Mexicano Burger
The spicy-seasoned burger is a real asset to the ever-growing Mexicano family. You can also vary it deliciously. Will you go for the Mexicano Burger Puebla (with guacamole, corn, tomato, red onion, salsa and jalapeño), the Mexicano Burger Oriental (with satay sauce, fried onions, chili sauce, fried onion, tomato and pickle) or the Mexicano Burger Classic (cheddar, bacon, fried onion, cucumber, tomato and pickle)? I’d say: try all three at least once. Mmm!
Jochempie
A deliciously crumbly minced-meat snack with fresh onions. Jochempie can be prepared in different ways: deep-fried or deliciously served in gravy. Bring it on!
Kipcrush
Another delicious chicken snack for chicken lovers: this rectangular, flat snack has a coarse breadcrumb coating and real chicken breast inside. Is your stomach already rumbling?
Three-Cheese Burger
Exclusive to Kwalitaria: an MRIJ beef burger topped with grated cheddar, Gouda and Parmesan, pesto mayonnaise and caramelized onion. How delicious does that sound?!
Lange Lummel
