9 of the most beautiful restaurants in London right now

Are you also itching to visit all kinds of fun and beautiful restaurants now that everything is opening up again? We certainly are! From the simple Thai place on the corner to really pushing the boat out at perhaps a Michelin or Bib Gourmand establishment: we can’t wait…

And whenever the opportunity arises to go to London again, it’s always a great idea to have a list of restaurants with you that rank among the city’s most special, beautiful or famous establishments. And we’re happy to help you get started! These are nine of the most amazing restaurants in London right now:
Amazonico, Mayfair
Personally recommended by my brother-in-law, this beautiful new place serves Latin American dishes (with Asian influences), fabulous cocktails and, as soon as the measures allow it again, an exciting bar and lounge of its own. If that doesn’t make you feel all warm and tingly in the right way, you’re probably made of stone inside…

Hideaway, Mayfair
Of course, you want to eat well and feast your eyes during the day too. You may need to recover for a while after a classic Full English Breakfast, but try to have lunch here at least once! Fantastic croque monsieurs, hot chocolate, but also cool luxurious standouts such as waffles with lobster.

Sketch, Mayfair
Do you want the full afternoon tea experience, but don’t fancy floral wallpaper and, er, too much tea? Then book an afternoon at this incredibly striking restaurant with its various rooms. They also call it ‘the afternoon tea for party people’. I feel seen…
Humble Pizza, Chelsea
They describe themselves as the plant-based perspective on one of the world’s most popular dishes. You can enjoy beautiful and healthy vegan pizzas here in a setting so all-out pink that you’ll automatically start seeing life through rose-tinted glasses.

Nutshell, Charing Cross
A beautiful place in pistachio and pink tones serving modern Iranian cuisine. Iranian cooking is rich in spices, herbs, aromas, fruits and nuts, and according to the owners of Nutshell, authentic dishes are offered in too few restaurants. Their success has already been rewarded with a Michelin star, but prices are still very reasonable (especially by London standards). Go!
Circolo Popolare, Fitzrovia
You’ll be amazed by this fantastic place: eclectic, cheerful, bustling Italian, with some twenty thousand (!) bottles lining the walls. Yes, that’ll make you thirsty, naturally. Beneath a ceiling of plants and lights, at tables laden with dishes of Sicilian delicacies, you’ll probably never want to leave.

Petersham Nurseries, Richmond
In a wonderfully green neighbourhood outside the centre, near the Thames, you’ll find an idyllic estate where you can have lunch, afternoon tea and dinner outside or inside a glass greenhouse. Rent a bike, enjoy some fresh air (or be glad you’re not on public transport in the sweltering heat), and reward yourself with a meal at this special family business.
Berners Tavern, Fitzrovia
Picture a grand, classically styled space with chandeliers, walls covered in art, smartly dressed waiters bringing you the most quintessentially British G&Ts and an exceptionally lively atmosphere. You’ll want to experience that at least once, right? You can at Berners Tavern, where you can eat British classics such as lamb with potatoes, Scottish beef or gammon with fried eggs. Perfectly executed, too.

Coal Rooms, Peckham
The reopening is still a little way off, but keep an eye on it! This bright, serene place serves a fantastic Sunday Roast on Sundays, and steak, brunch and tasting menus on other days. British classics with a modern twist and exciting variations.
