Book now: gin hotel in London

Feeling those holiday jitters yet? Maybe not to travel around the world with a backpack – heaven knows in which remote place you’d then have to figure out the COVID-19 guidelines – but perhaps a little hop across the Channel? Weekend in London? Don’t hesitate, because this is the hotel you’ll want to book right away.

In the average hotel minibar, you’ll find tiny cans of soft drinks at exorbitant prices, miniatures of gin, whisky and genever, an ancient Mars bar and a can of Pringles or peanuts (in the fridge, yes). This hotel does things a little better: full bottles of gin await you on your bedside table. The Distillery in London is the world’s first and only gin hotel.
There’s even a record player
It sounds like a lovely place to spend a few nights: no poster art in the room, but a record player with a great record collection, bottles of gin beside the bed and no room service, but a Ginstitute, where you can taste gin. A lovely bonus, right? The Distillery is located in the Portobello neighbourhood, known for its convivial restaurants and shops. But you actually don’t need to leave the building, because the small hotel has two restaurants. And sorry, guys, you’ll be spending the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa’s: children are not allowed in this hotel.
