Admit it, you want this: brie crème brûlée

creme-brulee-cheese

Crème brûlée is one of our favorite desserts. The combination of soft custard with that crispy sugar topping: heavenly! But custard isn’t the only thing that benefits from a crispy sugar layer on top. Because you know what else is delicious? Brie crème brûlée!

Crème brûlée on the menu? I always order it. It’s also fun to make at home; nothing is as spectacular as preparing it at the table with fire. But using that crème brûlée torch only for crème brûlée would be a waste. We previously tipped you off about what else you can use your crème brûlée torch for. Number one by far: brie crème brûlée! Because warm brie under a crispy, sweet roof: it drives me wild!

Warm brie

You probably already knew that warm brie is delicious. Barbecued brie is also a very good idea. But honestly, then you miss the sweetness that makes brie crème brûlée such a winner. And the good news: it takes about 10 minutes to make this treat. So here we go!

How to make brie crème brûlée

All you need is a large piece of brie, honey and cane sugar. Here’s how to do it:

  • Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
  • Cut off the white top of the brie. Drizzle a little honey over it and garnish with cane sugar. Put it in the oven for about 3–5 minutes, so the brie becomes wonderfully soft. Remove the brie from the oven and torch the top until it gets a beautiful color. It’s even more fun to do this at the table—just watch your guests’ faces!
  • Then serve it with tasty crackers and scoop up all the brie with your favorite crackers. WHAT.A.PARTY!
