An Ode to BN Biscuits

Sometimes a biscuit is so dear to you that it deserves to be put in the spotlight for a moment. Now, there are plenty of types of biscuits that I could easily eat entire packs of, but there’s only one like this one—the BN biscuits, which I rediscovered last week. Hence: an ode to the BN biscuits!

Desserts from the past, mixed drinks from the past, sweets from the past… every now and then, we look back nostalgically at our childhood favourites that we used to eat and drink. Don’t you sometimes miss squeezing completely shamelessly bright pink chewing gum out of a tube? Or licking the middle out of your Liga biscuits? Delicious, such a trip down memory lane! And honestly, when I came across the BN biscuits in the supermarket again after years, my day absolutely couldn’t be ruined anymore. BN BN tu tu tu du du.

BN BN tu tu tu du du

Two wholewheat biscuits with a layer of chocolate or vanilla in between and a winking face on top—who doesn’t know them? Our very own editor-in-chief! FavorFlav’s Sharon looked rather pityingly at me when I recently declared my love for them. How so?!) For all the connoisseurs: did you also first use your lower teeth to bite off the top biscuit while keeping the chocolate layer intact, only to lick it off the other biscuit afterwards? I did. And still do—that’s simply how you’re supposed to eat a BN biscuit, right?!

Time to stock up!

The only question I still have is whether the biscuits have been relaunched. Or did Appie decide to start selling them again? Or have I simply walked straight past them in the supermarket for years while doing the grocery shopping? Either way, I can easily manage five biscuits a day, because before you know it they’ll be gone again, so grab what you can!
