And the winner is…
It’s already the third edition of the FavorFlav Food Top 100, our annual celebration honoring the hundred most influential people in the food scene. The top spot? This year it goes to Jonnie and Thérèse Boer, who have been at the top of the Dutch hospitality scene for 25 years.
With the help of leading chefs and our readers, the FavorFlav editorial team has compiled a list of the hundred most influential tastemakers in the culinary world. Who made the difference in how we eat and drink this year? In the presence of the entire Dutch culinary scene, we have just announced the list.
Number 1: Jonnie and Thérèse Boer
De Librije is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. There is no other restaurant in the Netherlands that has held three Michelin stars for so long—no less than fourteen years. They have put Zwolle on the culinary world map and still manage to surprise us every time. That seems more than enough reason for us to honor Jonnie and Thérèse with the highest position on our list this year.
Number 2: André van Duin
The second place goes to André van Duin, because who makes more enjoyable food television? As the host of Heel Holland Bakt, he got us all baking again. With the team from De Nieuwe Lekkerbek, he also went in search of the Netherlands’ latest taste sensation, entertaining us every minute along the way.
Number 3: Tony’s Chocolonely
Third place goes to Tony’s Chocolonely. With their cheerful bars, from the classics to the countless limited editions and fun campaigns, they continue to work hard to make slave-free chocolate the norm. As far as we’re concerned, no other brand combines innovative marketing and idealism so well. And they have been doing so for more than ten years. Curious about the full list? You can find it here.
Six-course dinner
The FavorFlav Food Top 100 was announced on Monday, November 19, at restaurant BAUT during the annual FavorFlav Food Top 100 dinner. Top chefs Luc Kusters, Schilo van Coevorden, Alain Caron, Guillaume de Beer, Michiel van der Eerde and Hidde de Brabander prepared the six-course dinner.
