In 1862, in the city of Santiago de Cuba, Don Facundo Bacardí Massó revolutionized the spirits industry when he created a light-bodied rum with an exceptionally smooth taste. It was the birth of BACARDÍ. And now there’s Spiced. It is made with a golden rum aged in charred American oak barrels for a subtle smoky flavor. The rum is then blended with spices for a distinctive yet smooth taste.
No artificial sweeteners
The tradition of mixing rum with fruit and spices is almost as old as Caribbean rum itself. BACARDÍ Spiced can be enjoyed in all kinds of ways. Naturally, it’s perfect for the classic rum and cola (you’ll find the recipe below), or neat on the rocks, preserving its iconic flavor. Unlike some other rum brands, BACARDÍ does not use artificial sweeteners in Spiced to enhance the rich flavor of the spices.
How to make a Baco 2.0
• 150 ml cola • 50 ml BACARDí Spiced
Rum and cola has never been this exciting. It’s quick and easy to make; all you need is BACARDÍ Spiced and cola. Fill a glass with ice, pour in 50 ml BACARDÍ Spiced and finish with 150 ml cola.
How to make Raysa Staal’s ‘HEADLINES’
• 15 ml lime juice • 15 ml passion fruit purée • 15 ml popcorn syrup • 50 ml BACACRDÍ Spiced • Top up with ginger ale • Caramel popcorn
BACARDÍ Legacy winner Raysa Straal developed a delicious cocktail that you can recreate at home. Fill a cocktail glass with ice, cut the lime in half, squeeze out 15 ml of lime juice and pour it into the glass (lime juice from a bottle works too, of course). Add 15 ml passion fruit purée, followed by 15 ml popcorn syrup. Pour 50 ml BACARDÍ Spiced into the glass and top it up with ginger ale. Finally, garnish the cocktail with a little mint or, for a bit of fun, caramel popcorn.
