Beach on a budget: this is the cheapest beach in the Netherlands (and this is the best beach club)
A day at the beach is the most fun when you have a good beach bar nearby. Less fun is that such a day at the beach immediately becomes terribly expensive. Unless you go to Callantsoog. According to Holidayguru, this is the cheapest beach in the Netherlands.
If you order two beers, a fried-eggs-and-ham sandwich and a salmon sandwich in Callantsoog, you will pay a total of €22.40. By comparison: lunch in Noordwijk—the most expensive seaside resort in our country—costs €33.09. That is no less than 32.4% more expensive than lunch in Callantsoog. Schoorl and the Rotterdam region also appear to be ideal destinations for the budget-conscious beachgoer.
Drinking cheap beer at the beach
Speaking of Schoorl. If you want to drink beer cheaply during your day at the beach, you would do best to head to this coastal town in North Holland. Beachclub Prince George in Schoorl is the only beach bar where you can get a pilsner for a bargain price: €2.50. Where can you still do that these days? Certainly not at other beach bars in our country, because the average price we now have to pay for a beer at the beach is already €3.56. Ouch.

The best beach club in our country
Do we also have to go to Callantsoog and Schoorl for the best beach club in our country? No, not that. For that, we head south, to the picturesque Zeeland coastal village of Westkapelle. BomBaai Strandbar was named Best New Beach Pavilion by Entree Magazine in 2020. “A new pavilion where you feel as though you are on holiday. Here, you really escape the daily grind for a while and are, in fact, visiting the world of BomBaai. A colourful and refreshing world of fun and good vibes,” the jury wrote at the time.
And according to beachgoers, it is still the beach club you simply have to visit. The beach bar scores 4.6 out of 5 stars, based on 951 reviews in total. Visitors especially praise the delicious food, the wide range of vegan options and the friendly staff. Yes, they certainly know how to do it on the Zeeland coast.
