Beware: Albert Heijn warns about salmonella yet again
Albert Heijn has issued another important safety warning: this time it concerns The Organic Crave Chips Cheese due to possible salmonella contamination.
People who buy The Organic Crave Chips usually do so because it is a healthier snack than a bag of crisps from, for example, Lays. But the organic protein chips are now being withdrawn from sale due to possible salmonella contamination. Infection with salmonella bacteria is common in the Netherlands. Most people experience relatively mild symptoms that disappear on their own.
Recall
The recall applies exclusively to packages with a best-before date of 08-05-2023 and lot number 20220508D. All other Crave Chips products and other lot numbers are fine and can be eaten as usual. For more information, contact consumentenservice@bickery.nl or call 035-6568056 during office hours.
Drink plenty
Salmonella mainly causes diarrhoea. Are you suffering from it? Make sure you drink enough (tea, water, broth and oral rehydration salts – ORS, available from the chemist) and consume salt and sugar. Contact your GP if there is blood in the diarrhoea, if you have a high fever or if the diarrhoea has not improved after a week.
