Beware! There are stones in Lidl’s canned pea soup

Craving snert? I get it! Especially now that the rain is lashing against the windows and everyone could use some extra comfort food. But do be careful. Lidl has issued an important food warning: stones have ended up in their cans of snert. Ouch.

Delicious, a bowl of thick, steaming snert with bacon or pork chops and pieces of pork. Of course, you make the tastiest snert yourself (with this recipe for Joris Bijdendijk’s famous snert), but, well, renovations (yes, there’s going to be a new kitchen, olé!) mean that a can of snert or pea soup comes in handy.

Snert with stones

Kania pea soup from Lidl is the Best Tested private-label product (Pea Soup Test, VRIJ/Telegraaf, January 2021). If you’ve just bought a can of pea soup from the Kania brand, don’t eat the soup. Small stones may have ended up in the soup, according to the supermarket chain. It concerns Kania pea soup in an 800-milliliter can with an expiration date of 09-2025 and barcode 20521714.

If you return the can to the store, you will receive a refund of the purchase price.
