ontevreden klant in restaurant

We already knew that hospitality guests can engage in incredibly disgusting practices, but thanks to our lovely FavorFlav readers (where would we be without you?!) we have collected even more filth through the many responses to this disgusting article.

Working in hospitality is not always a bed of roses. Although it is incredibly fun work to do most of the time, and you laugh yourself silly at the most irritating pranks, plenty of things also happen that can only make you cry. Like these disgusting stunts by guests, for example. What a nightmare!

Urinal with dentures

Ohhhh, the men’s toilets. So many horrifying scenes can unfold here. For example, you had to clean the urinal several times because someone had relieved themselves in it (no, not pee but the other thing) and then failed to flush it. But a vomit-covered set of dentures that had also been vomited up did not exactly help things flow either, so the plunger had to be brought out again.

White blob

Speaking of cleaning. Reader Juanita says that after working a cloakroom/toilet shift, she found herself scrubbing a white blob off the wall in the ladies’ room at the end of the evening. Gross, grosser, grossest!

Tupperware party

FavorFlav’s Delilah has previously witnessed day-trippers casually taking all kinds of things with them for later at lunch, but one of our readers once saw a guest going around the buffet with a Tupperware container. Not disgusting, but bizarre!

Crunching chicken leg

Not chewing on shells, but gnawing on chicken legs. Why, goodness only knows. Chewing, crunching and sucking on a chicken leg… not something for people who cannot stand the sound of people eating very loudly, then.

Bloody interdental brush

Guests and toothpicks. I have never found it appetizing when people, with their mouths wide open, fish another piece of roast beef from between their teeth, but okay, I understand that it can be bothersome. But putting a bloody plastic interdental brush back on the plate is really, really disgusting.

Milk jugs with spit

At the restaurant where Loes worked, there were little milk jugs on the tables. A nice splash of fresh milk in your coffee. Or was it? After Loes saw a guest spit into the jug, they quickly disappeared from the tables…
