About Bottel
Bottel is an online delivery service in Amsterdam for fresh specialty beers (craft beers) from local breweries, such as: Gebrouwen door Vrouwen, De Prael, Oedipus, Two Chefs Brewing, Walhalla and Bird Brewers. The beers are freshly tapped at the breweries into a large brown bottle, or bottel, transported chilled and protected, and delivered within a short time to local hospitality businesses, shops or your home.
Fresh beer
One beer is not the same as another, at least according to the experts. While specialty beer from the supermarket can remain on the shelf for weeks or sometimes months, becoming flat and uniform in flavour, Bottel guarantees absolute freshness and optimal taste. How do they do it? They work only with exceptional local brewers who tap the beer into the characteristic bottels immediately after brewing. The beer then travels a short route from tap to table, chilled and under strict supervision.
The advice is to drink Bottel beer within four weeks of purchase; that is when the golden-yellow liquid tastes best. Have shops failed to sell it according to the freshness guarantee guidelines? Bottel simply removes it from the shelves and delivers it that same week to a number of regular offices in Amsterdam, where it is served at their Friday afternoon drinks.
For those who want to go all the way in the ‘fresh beer experience’, Bottel also supplies 2-litre kegs for the Sub (Heineken home draught system). Now all that remains is practising that perfect head of foam.
Drinking together
Because drinking beer is of course most enjoyable when you do it together, the bottel holds approximately one litre. It easily provides three to four glasses. Ideal for sharing with friends at the pub, but also for putting on the table at home.
