Brilliant discovery: kapsalon from the Airfryer

Kapsalon

An Airfryer is just as fantastic a wonder machine as the particle accelerator in Switzerland, with the only difference being the colliding protons. Okay, and you can’t convert mass into energy in an Airfryer. But when it comes to groundbreaking discoveries, the scientists at CERN are insanely jealous of this kapsalon from the Airfryer.

Kapsalon was discovered in 2003 by Nataniël Gomes, the owner of a hair salon in Rotterdam. He asked his neighbors, a shawarma shop, to make a dish with all his favorite ingredients: shawarma, fries, melted cheese and lettuce. An international hit, and now almost everyone knows it as the ultimate hangover food. Fatty and salty, what’s not to love? If you have an Airfryer , you no longer need to go to the snack bar. You can make a fantastic kapsalon at home, which also contains even fewer calories.

How to make kapsalon in the Airfryer

  • Cut the chicken thigh fillet into thin strips. Make a marinade with the peanut oil and shawarma spices and marinate the chicken strips for at least 2 hours.
  • Cook the strips in the Airfryer for at least 10 minutes at 200 degrees.
  • In the meantime, cut the tomato and cucumber into slices and the red onion into rings. Make a salad with the tomato, cucumber, onion and iceberg lettuce.
  • Press the garlic. Finely chop the parsley. Mix the parsley and garlic into the yogurt and season with salt and pepper.
  • When the meat is crispy, remove it from the Airfryer and cook the fries for about 13 minutes at 200 degrees in the Airfryer.
  • Now make the kapsalon by dividing the cooked fries among four ovenproof dishes. Place the cooked chicken strips and grated cheese on top. Put the kapsalons back in the Airfryer briefly, on the grill pan if possible, and let the cheese gratinate for 3 minutes at 200 degrees. Add the salad to the kapsalon, spoon some garlic sauce over it and garnish with garden cress or beetroot sprouts.
