Buurman & Buurman expand

Residents of Amsterdam West already know Buurman & Buurman for their crispy wood-fired pizzas with somewhat peculiar toppings. The two neighbors are now opening a new restaurant, where you can also go for coffee, lunch and breakfast.

What’s new?

At the current Buurman & Buurman, you essentially only eat wood-fired pizzas. There is always a salad and dessert on the menu as well, but the focus is on pizza. For takeaway or a quick meal there. The new location is set to become a true neighborhood restaurant where everyone can drop in throughout the day. Fortunately, the pizza concept will remain, but you can also have breakfast and lunch there, including plenty of healthy dishes.

On the menu?

You won’t find a standard pizza margherita at Buurman & Buurman. The pizzas here come topped with innovative combinations such as mackerel, beetroot and crème fraîche sauce; spicy halal chicken; cheese fondue (buffalo mozzarella, Stilton, Emmental and Comté) or goat cheese, grilled fennel and pistachio. In addition to all this, there are plenty of (healthy) breakfast and lunch options for the whole family.

Noteworthy?

To move into the premises, the men took part in a pitch competition organized by housing corporation Ymere. They were looking for an accessible hospitality venue with a neighborhood function, and various hospitality entrepreneurs were invited to pitch. Buurman de With was the lucky winner!
