Celebrations advent calendar pulls a ‘sick joke’ on chocolate lovers

Celebrations-Favorflav

For some people—more specifically, some people who had the Celebrations advent calendar at home—2020 turned out to be even more awful. We’re probably talking about the same types who had already labelled a certain chocolate ‘the most hated chocolate in the Celebrations mix’…

Because while an advent calendar in December often delivers a range of fun daily surprises in the form of sweets, beer, or advent wine, the next move by the people who put the calendar together at Mars (the company behind Celebrations) was met with shocked reactions:

Haha, fooled you

A mini-BOUNTY two days in a row!! ‘What?!’ some people thought—or actually ‘what’, because this story takes place in England; was this some kind of sick joke?! They had initially been absolutely delighted, but were completely misled by what they found behind the little door on day 1: a Malteser. Their favourite! (As revealed by a Twitter poll that Ladbible had conducted earlier). (The chocolate they would rather see disappear from the mix: the Bounty).

What are you doing to me?

And what did day 2 bring? A Bounty. Not quite the end of the world, but at least something to make these people fairly grumpy. And then day 3 brought the ultimate insult. Yet another Bounty. Two in a row! They felt completely taken the piss out of. ‘Why Celebrations hate me?’ and ‘sick joke’ and ‘Christmas ruined’ they complained on Twitter.

Sadistic pleasure

And at Mars? They’re probably rolling around on the floor laughing, after tweeting that they had ‘listened and learned’ and had put Maltesers, ‘the nation’s favourite Celebrations chocolate’, behind the first door. And they are standing firmly behind their decision—or at least in Bounty form.
