Thérèse Boer – Korea & Vietnam

We’d really love to go to Korea and Vietnam, because we’ve never been there. The cuisine of those countries is supposed to be truly fantastic as well. This summer we’re heading to the Caribbean, because we’re hosting a dinner there again, but next year we’re definitely going to Asia.

Jet van Nieuwkerk – All the Chef’s Table restaurants

Before I die, I want to have eaten at every restaurant featured in the documentary Chef’s Table.

Mounir Toub – Peking duck

I’m very curious to know what Peking duck tastes like. If you ever find out where I can get halal Peking duck, I’ll drive there immediately.

Janny van der Heijden – Japan

My youngest son spent several summers in a row in Japan. Every year he was there, I thought about going to visit him, but in the end I never did. I really regret that, because he knows the best places to eat in Tokyo. I still want to go there with him, to visit all those places. To make up for it.

Ron Blaauw – Fäviken (Sweden)

I find Magnus Nilsson’s philosophy admirable; everything from scratch. The restaurant is so skillfully put together, which is remarkable when you consider how far it is from the inhabited world. I really hope it hasn’t been too hyped. I hope the restaurant’s success wasn’t orchestrated through a preconceived media plan, but comes from the owner himself.

Sergio Herman – Manresa (San Francisco)

Manresa in San Francisco—their vegetable cuisine really appeals to me. And Japan, simply in general.
