Choco fan? Go wild with these chocolate lava buns

If you’re a true, genuine, die-hard and obsessed chocolate lover, and you don’t mind making a bit of an effort for the very best choco treats, then you might want to sit down before reading this news. It’s such good news that it may well overwhelm you a little…

And then you need to book a train ticket to London straight away and make a reservation at the Din Tai Fung location in Covent Garden, because that’s where they sell these absurdly decadent and insanely exciting Chocolate Cocoa Lava Buns. For us, the London location is the easiest to reach, because the originally Taiwanese chain, with restaurants all over the world, has unfortunately not yet established itself in the Netherlands.
Chocolate + lava = wipe me off the floor
And you know what the words chocolate and lava mean in one sentence, right? Flowing, melting, hot, decadent chocolate running down your chin if you’re not careful, pulling a river of happiness right through your senses… Well, all of that in a soft steamed chocolate bun made with perfect cocoa dough.

Get there quickly
They’re steamed in classic steamer baskets, and only 150 of the buns are made and sold each day. That means booking lunch, because you need to get there early! So if you’re able to go to London sometime soon (and be sure to eat at one of these beautiful London restaurants too), then you know what you have to do: leave your white jeans in your suitcase (great tip from food writer Leonie Cooper), and don’t go home before you’ve tasted these incredibly delicious Chocolate Cocoa Lava Buns…
