Christmas stress 2020? Let Sergio Herman do the cooking for you

Sergio Herman

Christmas 2020 will be a little different than usual: probably not the whole family around the table, but an extremely select group. But maybe that’s the perfect reason to go all out with your Christmas dinner? Take the Christmas dinner Sergio Herman is going to put together: lobster and other shellfish are on the menu. Sounds delicious!

What are we eating, dear Sergio? Definitely no cremated turkey and rock-hard Brussels sprouts—the top chef is taking a different approach. The ‘Le Pristine Christmas Menu’ is a festive four-course menu that starts with sea bass tartare, followed by a starter with potato, prawns and mussels. Main course? Lobster ragout and mushroom ravioli. Of course. We finish with a pineapple tarte tatin with Amalfi lemon. And half the ingredients haven’t even been mentioned yet. For breakfast the next day, Sergio is also adding a filled Christmas loaf, for a cosy touch.

Putting together bags and containers

There’s a good chance you’ll have to do quite a bit of puzzling with all kinds of containers and bags (just as we did with this lovely Michelin-star menu), but it sounds fantastic in any case. For 95 euros per person, you’ll feast like royalty at your own kitchen table. You can order the menu here. You’ll still need to add wine, if that’s your thing, but check out the sommeliers’ tips and make the most of it.

The only downside? The menu can only be collected in Antwerp, Limburg, East and West Flanders, and Zeeland. So, the south of the country—which means the rest of the Netherlands will have to improvise with a rolled roast from the local butcher and a Viennetta from the freezer.
