Cookbook of the Year
Smokey Goodness by Jord Althuizen has been named Cookbook of the Year 2016. Bas Robben won the Golden Garde Audience Award with his debut ‘Zuur’.
Althuizen’s barbecue bible is packed with recipes such as churasco-style picanha (the best steak experience of your life, he says), fresh chimichurri and s’mores with salted caramel from the skillet. According to the jury, Althuizen has truly delved into American barbecue culture with this book and highlights it from every angle. The book also won in the category for best design and photography (Erik Rikkelman and Remko Kraaijeveld).
The debut by Bas Robben, ‘Zuur’, has only just been released and has already been voted the best cookbook of the year by the public. Robben’s book contains recipes whose common denominator is an acidic ingredient.
