Cooking Dry Pasta in the Microwave: It’s That Handy

Cooking pasta in the microwave. Just hearing that sentence is enough to send Italians running away screaming. But hey, if you can make a pizza in a mug in the microwave (ready in 3 minutes), then surely pasta should work too, right?

Absolutely. And it’s incredibly simple and quick at the same time. This method for cooking pasta is truly 100% foolproof. (And we know perfectly well that cooking pasta in a pan isn’t rocket science, but by the time you’ve boiled the water and the pasta comes out al dente, you’ve still spent at least three times as long on it..)
Cooking pasta in the microwave
Take a large, microwave-safe bowl and fill it with 1 teacup of pasta and 2 cups of water per person. Put the bowl in the microwave on the highest setting for about 5 minutes (if you cook more pasta, it will take longer). Stir halfway through so the pasta doesn’t stick, add another splash of water if necessary and beep beep, job done.
Pretty handy trick, right? Especially for people who are just as crazy about eating cooked pasta without sauce as I am (yes, really).
