Cornetto has a new ice cream: the limited-edition Cornetto Dragon
Sun’s out and that means we can once again shamelessly lick our way through mountains of ice cream (and eat it too: hello Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough!). And how good: one new ice cream after another is being launched. From Oreo ice cream cake and Magnum’s Double Gold Caramel Billionaire to Piglets and Monkey Heads ice cream. The newest ice-cold addition to the freezer aisle is OLA’s limited-edition Cornetto Dragon.
Most people think that Cornetto is the result of a revolutionary invention, and actually, it is. Spica, an ice cream maker from Naples, came up with the brilliant idea of coating the inside of the cone with a layer of chocolate so that the wafer would stay crisp when it was filled with ice cream. And voilà: that is how Cornetto was born in 1959. A dream of an ice cream – and hugely popular from day one.
A new Cornetto
And now there is the new Cornetto Dragon. On the outside, the ice cream certainly looks flashy. What can you expect in terms of flavour? A black cocoa wafer cone filled with a fruity combination of mango-passion fruit and strawberry ice cream, topped with strawberry sauce. And no nuts on top like with the classic Cornetto, but black cocoa cookies that look like crunchy coals. Delicious!

The Dragon ice cream (120ml) is available at all OLA sales locations. Cornetto Dragon is also available in mini format (8 x 55ml) and can simply be bought at the supermarket (a box costs 3.79 euros).
