Croky comes with a new flavor of our favorite fries

A classic from the snack bar menu in the form of a chip; that can’t be anything but delicious. Or can it? We put it to the test and immediately dashed to the supermarket to get our hands on Croky’s new Patatje speciaal chips.

A snack-inspired chip flavor is incredibly trendy. It all started a few years ago when the Netherlands collectively fell for patatje Joppie chips, which have now been a permanent fixture among the other bags of chips on the shelves for quite some time. Not long ago, Lays also launched three new chip flavors: KFC chicken, Subway Teriyaki and Pizza Hut Magherita, which, incidentally, we didn’t all enjoy equally…

What does it taste like?

But now it’s Belgian chip maker Croky’s turn. With a picture on the front of a generously filled cone of ‘patatje speciaal’, you naturally expect plenty of curry, onion and mayo flavor. With the first bite, it’s mainly the onion we taste. But the more chips you eat, the more recognizable the patatje speciaal flavor becomes. In fact, it really does taste like a patatje speciaal. Do you prefer ordering this combination at your local snack bar? Then this is definitely a highly recommended treat.

Then make a beeline for the nearest Albert Heijn, Jumbo or Coop, because the new Croky flavor is available there for €1.35.
