Delicious! You can buy guacamole-flavored (and blue!) tortilla chips at Lidl this week
Ariba ariba! The Mexican weeks have started again at Lidl supermarket. And this time too, we’ve pulled something delicious from the shelves, namely tortilla chips in different flavors. And especially those blue tortilla chips are irresistible.
The ultimate loaded nachos consist of plenty of melted cheese, beans or meat, a generous dollop of sour cream, a fresh counterpart such as a spicy salsa and the most important ingredient… the tortilla chips. But we’re also perfectly happy to finish off a bag of triangular chips just as they are. Especially when it’s one of these flavors.
Favorite: blue tortilla chips
During the Mexican weeks, you can buy three different types of tortilla chips at Lidl: a variety with a spicy jalapeño-lime flavor, guacamole flavor or these blue salted tortilla chips. Favorite of FavorFlav’s Sharon: ‘I remember it well, the first time I ate blue tortilla chips. It was in America, a very long time ago. I searched for them so often in the Netherlands afterward, but they’re not available everywhere. So I immediately brought home a few bags of El Tequito! This variety, made from blue corn, is also wonderfully salty—delicious!’
Mexican Week started yesterday. You pay €0.99 per bag for the jalapeño-lime and guacamole chips, while the editorial favorite costs €1.99. And hurry, because you know: once they’re gone, they’re gone!
