Deliciously greasy: the Frituur Festival
Fan of bitterballen, kroketten and basically everything deep-fried? Then I have good news: this summer, you can head to the Frituur Festival in Groningen.
After the high fry, where deep-fried food fans can enjoy luxurious platters filled with fries and other snacks, your craving for fried food will be completely satisfied at the Frituur Festival. This is already the fourth time this festival has been organised in Groningen. The grounds are transformed into a true snack paradise, with (greasy) bands playing and delicious beer or wine to enjoy with your snacks.
New deep-fried snacks
If you think you’re only coming here for the standard kroketten and frikandellen, think again. The festival also involves plenty of experimentation: think of a bitterbal filled with egg, a snertkroket, an insect frikandel and—this seems like the tastiest snack to me—a carbonara kroket.
The festival takes place on 2 June at the former Suikerunie grounds in Groningen. Tickets for €5 are still available.
