Domino’s launches the Pizza Vegeroni for vegetarians who really miss Pizza Pepperoni

Domino’s Pizza Pepperoni

Pizza Pepperoni is one of the most popular pizzas imaginable. Too bad vegetarians can’t order it, they thought at Domino’s. And after extensive testing, it is now available with vegetarian pieces of Pepperoni. Hello, Pizza Vegeroni! (And pssssttt… also for vegans!)

Recently, we wrote somewhat bemusedly about Domino’s latest pizza creation, the MasterTriple Course. A pizza even partly topped with cubes of cheesecake, sweet potato and cream cheese. Well, whether this is really something we would recommend is debatable. No, then give us the Pizza Vegeroni. We would definitely like to sink our teeth into that.

The Vegetarian Butcher

With around 1.5 million copies sold per year, Pizza Pepperoni is one of Domino’s most popular pizzas. Developing a vegetarian version was therefore a logical step. For this, Domino’s headed into the kitchen with The Vegetarian Butcher. The result: the Vegeroni is deliciously spicy, has a firm bite and is a truly excellent alternative to the real deal. An extra plus for some people: the fake slices of Pepperoni are 58% lower in calories than the original slices of Pepperoni.

Also for vegans

Pizza Vegeroni can also be ordered in a vegan version, in which the cheese is replaced with vegan cheese.

In addition to the Pizza Vegeroni, Domino’s is further expanding its vegetarian menu with the Veggi Chicken Supreme and the vegetarian Crunchy Chicken, which are also available at all locations in the Netherlands from today.
