Don’t fall for it: ginger shots? You’re getting seriously ripped off

Ginger shots are everywhere. You can’t be a fit girl without a ginger shot in your hand. And that sounds pretty logical too, because ginger has many health benefits. Ginger contains countless vitamins and minerals, and the spice supports processes in the body, such as digestion, and combats nausea. So a ginger shot seems like a good idea. But don’t fall for it: you’re getting seriously ripped off.

Wait, wait. 1% ginger? Yes, you read that right. This ginger shot really takes the cake. WUNDA’s mango-ginger shot from WUNDA mainly contains apple juice, mango purée (40%) and lime juice. It’s WUNDA-fully small but mighty, they say themselves. For the astronomical price of €2.29, we feel more WUNDA-fully ripped off.

A bit of a miss…

We’re fans of Lidl, for example because of that incredible tiramisu and the little apple pie. But with this ginger shot containing only 8% ginger, Lidl misses the mark.

Not as innocent as it seems

The brand Innocent also has a ginger shot in its range. And it consists mainly of apple juice (54%) and carrot juice (15%). The proportion of ginger juice is 10%. You pay €1.99 for apple juice with a hint of ginger flavor. This shot is not as innocent as it seems.

A lot for very little

Well, it’s clear: under the guise of a healthy ginger shot, you’re mainly buying an expensive juice that contains hardly any ginger and costs far too much. So from now on, read the ingredients list before tossing such a cute little bottle into your basket, and you’ll know what you’re drinking.

Fortunately, it can be done
