Dream job: which mega lucky bastard is going to make money tasting cheese??

Imagine this: you go to work, arrive, hang up your coat, greet your colleagues, straighten your CEO plaque on your desk because some jealous jerk has knocked it over again – wait, what? Jealous? Why? Because you’re the CHEESE EXECUTIVE OFFICER, that’s why!

Because believe it or not, the American company Whisps, which makes light snacks made from cheese, is looking for a cheese fanatic to help with quality testing for a year (read: taste all the snacks) and developing new flavors. And that lucky bastard will even get paid for it!
Cold hard cash
A piece of cheddar in one hand, $2,000 in cold hard bills in the other. On top of that, a $1,500 allowance for the crappy job that tasting cheese snacks happens to be (I’d do it for free), plus an all-expenses-paid visit in 2022 to the biennial Wisconsin World Cheese Championship. Yes, that’s a thing, Gruyère won this year. And Gouda cheese from Lutjwinkel won bronze!
So jealous
The only thing stopping me from applying for this in a stalkerish manner? You have to be at least 21 (I qualify) and live in America (I don’t). Like I said: that’s one lucky bastard who gets to do this, grrrr…
Why tell me why
Why don’t we have this?? We want to get paid to taste cheese too, and sleep in cheese hotel rooms! Sigh… I think I’ve earned a cheeseboard after this news. Thank goodness we can count ourselves lucky that our little country is overflowing with the most amazing cheeses, and that we can visit cheese bars, for example. And it’s not only in France that you can help get the local cheese economy back on its feet after the coronavirus crisis by simply buying lots of delicious cheese; here too, alongside the potato farmers and aubergine growers, the cheese producers can use all the support they can get. No hardship at all!
