The cheese train: from Amsterdam to Utrecht

This year, Kaasbar Amsterdam opened. And now the Intercity is heading from Amsterdam to Utrecht. Because at Kaasbar Utrecht, just like at the Amsterdam location, cheese will be served on a sushi train, where you pick sushi from the conveyor belt—but with cheese! And believe me, it’s incredibly fun and delicious!

Dutch cheese: from white-rind to blue-rind

The owners, Mark, Thierry and Hademar, are true cheese lovers. Mark and Thierry come from a cheesemaking family and have chosen to serve only (twenty) Dutch cheeses. Delicious, because the Netherlands produces an incredible number of wonderful cheeses, and they would love for you to taste them. The cheeses are arranged from mild to strong in each group, and for the ultimate experience, eat the cheeses from white-rind to blue-rind.

Sheep’s cheese with… popcorn!

They have come up with a special pairing for each cheese that complements its flavour. How about sheep’s cheese served with popcorn/caramel, or an aged cumin cheese with curry mayo and lime zest? And of course, you can drink the perfect wine—or even beer—with every cheese!

Jump on the cheese train

Kaasbar Amsterdam was an instant success. Kaasbar Utrecht will open at the end of this summer. The exact date is not yet known, but the location is: the beautiful art deco building of De Witte Ballons, overlooking the Oudegracht and the Dom. Do you live in Utrecht or the surrounding area? Jump on the cheese train and enjoy the ride!
