Dunkin’ Donuts turns 6 and celebrates with a donut pizza

Uhh, okay: I’m not entirely convinced this isn’t some kind of April Fools’ joke. I know it’s not April 1 yet, but I find this a very bizarre promotion. Dunkin’ Donuts is turning six and I understand that this needs to be celebrated, but do it with what you’re best at: DONUTS. But no, they’re taking a different approach: Dunkin’ Donuts is coming out with a pizza. In the shape of a donut.

Anyway, Dunkin’ Donuts has announced that they want to expand their range in the coming year, and apparently this pizza is part of that.

Salami pizza, but on donut dough

Dunkin’ Donuts isn’t going for traditional pizza, however, but for pizzas made with donut dough. I’m not quite sure what to expect: a salami pizza, but on sweet, airy dough? I love pizza, so of course I want to try this, but I’m fairly skeptical.

And luckily, Dunkin’ Donuts is completely fine with that — they’re starting with a small range. If guests enjoy the pizzas, they may expand the menu further. And by the way, the pizzas aren’t the only additions to the menu: they’re also introducing toasted sandwiches and sandwiches. In other words: Dunkin’ Donuts is becoming much more than just coffee and donuts. That actually sounds pretty good.
